Obituary for Donald Gregory "Don" Norvell
Funeral Services for S/Sgt. Donald Gregory Norvell, 30 years, will be privately held on Friday, 23 November 2012, at Klaassen Family Funeral home, 1500 Robbins Road, Grand Haven, Michigan, 49417, 1-616-842-9495, with Pastor Doug Bytwerk officiating. S/Sgt. Norvell passed away this past Wednesday, 14 November 2012, in his Vacaville, California home unexpectedly. He was born on 30 November, 1981, to Gregory M. Norvell and Donna M. Sacks. A former resident of Grand Haven and Grand Rapids,, he had resided in Vacaville the past four years having been stationed at Travis Air force Base, Fairfield, California. He was a Precision Measurement Equipment Laboratory Specialist at the military installation. He graduated from Kent State University with a Masters Degree in physics. His career goals while in the Air Force and there after included securing a PhD. in mathematics. His hobbies included Libertarian Politics, Theoretical Genetics and Monetary Policy.
Don was a very studious man, he loved playing pool and chess as well as reading, listening to music and watching movies.
He is survived by his loving family, mother and step-father, Donna and Jim Sacks of Grand Haven, father and step-mother, Gregory and Diana Norvell of Richmond, Maine; grandmother, Lorraine Sacks of Grand Haven; brother; Justin Sacks of Grand Haven; sister, Kira (Eric) Richards and nephews, Gavin and George Richards of Kalamazoo. Don also leaves behind many aunts, uncles and cousins. Don was preceded in death by his grandparents, Art and Yvonne Parker and Mary Lake and Ken Norvell
He will be laid to rest in the Grand Haven Township Cemetery, Grand Haven, Michigan, with Full military Honors being rendered by the United States Air Force and the Charles A. Conkliin American Legion Post #28.
